Chef Bio
Nicole Gourmet owner and Executive Chef Nicole
Kammerer holds over a decade of local and international professional
cooking experience. Realizing at an early age her passion for cooking,
she pursued a classical education at Vancouver’s Dubrulle French
Culinary School. Shortly after graduation an apprenticeship opportunity
guided her to work in Paris, France, which sparked many travels
throughout Europe, Asia and Australia to expand her cuisine knowledge.
Upon return to her hometown of Vancouver she was the first female
hired by Chef David Hawksworth at his award winning restaurant,
West.
In 2002, a move to Calgary sparked interest to work with Chef Michael
Noble at Catch Restaurant. Working her way up the ranks she
landed a Sous Chef position in the dining room. Over two years
later, she accepted the Executive Chef position at Mercato,
a new open kitchen Italian dining concept with a boutique gourmet
grocery store attached.
